I can't believe that I have a 12 year old. It seems like just yesterday that Haydn was just a little boy running around our place in Lethbridge. He is a great kid and has sure kept us on our toes for the first 12 years of his life (Its only just begun I am sure haha)The day started like everyone of the kids Birthday morning, with pancakes. Every birthday, Kristi makes the kids a stack of pancakes with the number of how old they are turning. So Haydn is turning 12, so he got a stack of 12 pancakes. it was a bit hard to stack them up without them falling over.
Haydn wanted Sushi for his birthday dinner and Kristi knew that she would not have time that night to make it, so she made some for him for lunch and brought it to the school. He was pretty surprised when mom walked in with a plate full of sushi just for him. Go figure, the pickiest kid on earth when it comes to food for his birthday he wants sushi for his birthday meal.We had our end of the Trimester (We switch our options 3 times) awards at the Junior High and Haydn received the PE award for this trimester. We were pretty proud of him for working so hard in school. He has a lot of great talents that we hope he will share.
Haydn was also ordained a Deacon on Sunday. This is a big day for him because he will be able to pass the sacrament now and go to the Temple and do Baptisms. He is excited to go to the Temple and do the baptisms. He has already talked to his friends about going together. I hope he will always have that same enthusiasm to do good. I am sure the he will be nervous to pass the sacrament for the first time next sunday. He had to be presented in front of the ward to become a Deacon and he was so nervous because the bishop asked him to say one of the Articles of Faith in front of the ward. He stuck with saying the first article of faith even though the girl before him said the same one haha.
Haydn invited a bunch of his friends to the junior high for his birthday party. The played basketball and Lazer tag for about 3 hours and then I took all the boys to the high school and watched the high school basketball team play. The boys seemed to have a great time.
