Our Lady Peace x 6

You cant get enough of a good thing, right? Our Lady Peace is one of Kristi's favourite bands (and mine) so for Valentines day / Anniversary I surprised her with tickets to the concert. The best part of this concert was the venue. They were playing at a place called Flames Central, which only holds about 350-400 people. So we were able to get close to the band on the floor.

This was the 6th time that we have seen Our Lady Peace, and they were just as good as they were the first time we saw them. actually they were probably better. There was a great mix of old classics and new songs that have just been put out by the band. Kristi was excited for this concert because the last time we went to an Our Lady Peace concert she was about 8 months pregnant with Tyson. Raine Maida the lead singer came out into the audience and walked close to Kristi, and she went running after him like a little school girl. She quickly realized that she was pregnant and retreated her run before things started to spill out...haha.

The venue (Flames Central) is right down town so parking was hard to find. We ended up parking in a paid parkade. After we paid we read a sign that said that cars had to be out of the parkade by midnight or we would not be able to get our car out until 5am. We were a little worried because the doors of the concert did not open until 8pm and the opening band did not go on till 9pm. The opening band played for about 45 min and then Our Lady Peace went on at 10pm. So we have 2 hours until our car was going to be stuck until 5am, which would make it a little hard to get to work in the morning. At 11:30pm Our lady Peace was still playing and I was starting to get a little worried. They left the stage at 11:40, but then came back on for a 2nd encore and played 2 more songs. The last song was a song called 4am, which was almost fitting because we would have to wait for our car till 5 if we did not get out of there in time. The last song (which was amazing) ended at about 11:55, and we were out the door running down the street to the parkade. We jumped in the car and got out of there. We left the parkade at 11:58pm, just in time to get out! Good times.

The concert was amazing, and I had a great time at the concert with my beautiful wife. We even had a girl that was talking to us that was so shocked that we had been married 11 years, had 3 kids, and were 30+ years old. The girl thought we were only about 25 years!! Yes Kris we still got it baby!!

to start the Easter Holidays
Time To Party

Easter Break and a week off school has come and gone for another year. This week off was great because we did so much stuff that it did not seem to go by too fast. I wanted to get the boys outside in the nice spring weather and get ready for the up-coming baseball season. Almost everyday we were at the ball diamond practicing hitting, pitching and fielding. Oh....and I needed to gets some cuts in for my softball season that will be starting in May as well. Haydn and Brody are excited for the baseball seasons to begin, and I wanted to make sure they were ready. It will be a busy May and June with me coaching both the boys in Minors and Coach Pitch, me playing softball, umping, Kristi working, Brody playing soccer on saturdays, finding time to golf and Haydn still going to drums, but it will be worth it in the end. Well... now that I have looked at it.....I hope that it will be. Haha.

Tyson's favorite spot in the kids pool
As week went along, we wanted to get the kids out of Cardston for a few days to have some fun. We were not able to plan any big trip because I had to stick around to finalize some of the baseball teams in town and hand out the equipment and uniforms. We decided to head to Calgary and stay in a fun hotel that we found out by the airport (Best Western Port-O-Call). Its a great hotel for the kids, because it has two water-slides, a great kids pool, and two hot tubs.

Our hotel room had an extra door that opened right up into the pool area, which was great for the boys. The kids love to swim so they stayed on the water-slides for hours. Tyson sat in the hotel room yelling in excitement, "Swimming!" He loved the kids pool, and was so excited when Mom and Dad took him on the big water-slides. As soon as he was off the slide he would look at us and say, "slide-slide-slide". How could we say "no" to such a cute face. So we had some serious exercise hiking up the stairs with Tyson in our arms.

Another trip up the stairs. The kids really
got their exercise

11pm is a great time to order pizza

Between sessions of swimming we took a drive out to the mall. It was snowing pretty good and we took a wrong turn, so we ended up wasting half the time driving around just to get back to the turn off to get into the mall. Our night ended with ordering pizza at 11pm and hanging out together as a family in the room. The kids got a kick out of ordering pizza so late and staying up.

Kristi and Tyson with the
Penguins
With the snow coming down we thought our plans of going to the Calgary Zoo the next day were going to be wasted, but the weather came through. The next day was not warm, but it was good enough to hit up the Zoo. The best part was that it was Friday morning and cold, so there was hardly anyone at the Zoo. The kids loved seeing all the animals, and did not complain too bad about having to walk so much around the Zoo. To see all the animals (and prehistoric park) you have to put on a few miles haha.

Tyson loved the animals. Its amazing to see him see the animals for the first time. He didnt know what to think about a few of the animals that were there. The Calgary Zoo has a new penguin exhibit and we were able to get into that without even waiting in line. They must be expecting large lines because as we were walking away from the exhinit we would see signs that would read, "if you are here, it is a 2 hour wait for the pengiuns". We walked right into the exhibit, so I think we went at the best possible time.

Moxies - For smoke ice cream and a hefty bill..haha

Our trip finally ended with a trip to Moxies restaurant because Haydn and Brody love the "Smoke Ice cream". It is ice cream that comes in a bowl with dry ice that is shooting smoke everywhere.

Then of course on the drive home mom and Tyson are asleep and Haydn and Brody are on their Ipods. Which leaves me to just sing to myself the whole way home. It was a great trip with the family. I love being with them, and I am grateful to be able to have a job that allows me to spend so much time with my wife and kids and continue to make great memories.

Family Pics

I just wanted to post some of the family pictures that we got when we were in Spruce Grove. TJ Aneca did them for us.

Please Let This Be The Last Snow of the Year!!

Baseball season is soon upon us, and I am hoping that there will be no more snow this year. The weather has been good and we have been out practicing 2 or 3 times. I cant complain about the winter that we had this year, it has been pretty mild compared to previous years. BUT, every time I think that the winter is over and baseball season is ready to start we get one last snow........I hope not this year.

Tyson's garbage bag
Snow pants.
These are a few pictures from the last snow that we had. The boys had a great time cause the snow was sticky which was perfect for making a snowman. We did not have any snow pants for Tyson, so Kristi put a garbage bag around his legs and let him walk around in the snow with it. He loved it and it seemed to work out great. haha

Haydn's Metallic Smile

Poor Haydn!!! Had to get Braces a few weeks ago. His teeth are fine for now, but he had to get braces because he has a couple of teeth that need to come in but are stuck. The braces will move some of the teeth out of the way so the new teeth can grow in. They are uncomfortable and he cannot eat all the things that he used to, but he is doing good and he understands that they will help him in the long run. Wicked Tin Grin!

Let The Egg Decorating begin!

Easter Break Fun

Kids love this time of year. They love to paint the eggs and roll them down the hill. We had a great time painting eggs with the Durfey kids and made our way to the lions Park hill to roll the eggs and cardboard down the hill.

This April marked my 11 year anniversary with Kristi. We didn't do anything too crazy, but any time that we can get out of the house with no kids is great..haha. Its crazy to think that we have been married 11 years.....A career, a house, 3 sons, and we love each other more everyday.

My Yankees Egg
The boys had a great time looking for their Easter baskets. Haydn stayed at Grandma Dixie's house, so we had to write a note to the Easter Bunny and tell him where Haydn was going to be. He was excited to see that the Easter Bunny had not forgotten about him at Grandmas. Brody woke up so early to find his basket, and he was so patient to wait for mom and dad to come to grips with the morning and get out of bed..haha

Easter Breakfast at Grandmas

Brody Throwing his egg down the hill.

The Easter weekend ended with a chocolate fountain at the Durfey's house. You know, cause thats exactly what the kids need at Easter.....More Chocolate.

A Few Extra Important Stories From The Wynder Family

Ryan giving me an Alley-Oop Toss. Sorry I broke
your Ankles earlier Ry.
My brother Ryan and his family were here a few weeks ago, and we had a fun time playing in the gym as a family. It is always great to see him and hang out. Our visits are few and far between, so I love to spend time with our families when they are around.

This is one of Tyson's favorite places to be. For some reason this kid is obsessed with the dish washer. In this picture he had opened the dish washer, got out the detergent and climbed on the door. Smart kid...haha

This is the leg of Tim Williams. Anyone who has played softball with me knows that most of my power is center to right center. This is a little dangerous for anyone pitching to me, because I have a tendency to hit up the middle right at the pitcher. We are trying to get ready for the season that will be starting in May, so we wanted to go out and take a few cuts. Tim said that he would pitch to me, and the first 4 pitches were great cause they all went over the fence. The 5th pitch was not so lucky. Tim pitched me a low and outside pitched that I rolled over and hit right back at him. I hit this ball hard, and he did not have much time to get out of the way.....well I guess he didn't have anytime cause the ball nailed him in the side of the leg. This picture is the after math of that Hit.....Sorry again Tim.

We have been getting Haydn and Brody ready for their baseball seasons. Haydn will be playing his first year in Minors, and this will be the first year he will have other kids pitching to him. We have been practicing his hitting, fielding and pitching. Brody will be playing his 2nd year in coach Pitch.

This is what happens when you don't pull the plug in the tub and then you take your eye off of Tyson for 2 seconds. BUT, he sure was happy to be back in the bath tub.

Cardston Junior High Talent Show
The Teachers Perform

Austin Nunn - Elvis impersonator and song starter. had some issues counting at the start of the song, but we recovered.

Nathan Smith - Lead guitar, and the guy that put the whole thing together.

Grant Cahoon - Saxophone and the best band teacher around.

Tyler Bevans - Rhythm Guitar, Trumpet and lead Vocals. Steal the show why don't ya.

Erica Burt - Electric Keyboard

Luanna Payne, Franciose Coombs, Rachelle Sugden, and Andrea Marsh - back up vocals and Kazoo players. There mike was not working very well, so it was hard to hear, but they sounded great.

Jeff and Puala Anderson - Dancers.
