Me and Brody rocking the Air-Band
to start the Easter Holidays
Time To Party

Easter Break and a week off school has come and gone for another year. This week off was great because we did so much stuff that it did not seem to go by too fast. I wanted to get the boys outside in the nice spring weather and get ready for the up-coming baseball season. Almost everyday we were at the ball diamond practicing hitting, pitching and fielding. Oh....and I needed to gets some cuts in for my softball season that will be starting in May as well. Haydn and Brody are excited for the baseball seasons to begin, and I wanted to make sure they were ready. It will be a busy May and June with me coaching both the boys in Minors and Coach Pitch, me playing softball, umping, Kristi working, Brody playing soccer on saturdays, finding time to golf and Haydn still going to drums, but it will be worth it in the end. Well... now that I have looked at it.....I hope that it will be. Haha.

Tyson's favorite spot in the kids pool
As week went along, we wanted to get the kids out of Cardston for a few days to have some fun. We were not able to plan any big trip because I had to stick around to finalize some of the baseball teams in town and hand out the equipment and uniforms. We decided to head to Calgary and stay in a fun hotel that we found out by the airport (Best Western Port-O-Call). Its a great hotel for the kids, because it has two water-slides, a great kids pool, and two hot tubs.

Our hotel room had an extra door that opened right up into the pool area, which was great for the boys. The kids love to swim so they stayed on the water-slides for hours. Tyson sat in the hotel room yelling in excitement, "Swimming!" He loved the kids pool, and was so excited when Mom and Dad took him on the big water-slides. As soon as he was off the slide he would look at us and say, "slide-slide-slide". How could we say "no" to such a cute face. So we had some serious exercise hiking up the stairs with Tyson in our arms.

Another trip up the stairs. The kids really
got their exercise

11pm is a great time to order pizza

Between sessions of swimming we took a drive out to the mall. It was snowing pretty good and we took a wrong turn, so we ended up wasting half the time driving around just to get back to the turn off to get into the mall. Our night ended with ordering pizza at 11pm and hanging out together as a family in the room. The kids got a kick out of ordering pizza so late and staying up.

Kristi and Tyson with the
Penguins
With the snow coming down we thought our plans of going to the Calgary Zoo the next day were going to be wasted, but the weather came through. The next day was not warm, but it was good enough to hit up the Zoo. The best part was that it was Friday morning and cold, so there was hardly anyone at the Zoo. The kids loved seeing all the animals, and did not complain too bad about having to walk so much around the Zoo. To see all the animals (and prehistoric park) you have to put on a few miles haha.

Tyson loved the animals. Its amazing to see him see the animals for the first time. He didnt know what to think about a few of the animals that were there. The Calgary Zoo has a new penguin exhibit and we were able to get into that without even waiting in line. They must be expecting large lines because as we were walking away from the exhinit we would see signs that would read, "if you are here, it is a 2 hour wait for the pengiuns". We walked right into the exhibit, so I think we went at the best possible time.

Moxies - For smoke ice cream and a hefty bill..haha

Our trip finally ended with a trip to Moxies restaurant because Haydn and Brody love the "Smoke Ice cream". It is ice cream that comes in a bowl with dry ice that is shooting smoke everywhere.

Then of course on the drive home mom and Tyson are asleep and Haydn and Brody are on their Ipods. Which leaves me to just sing to myself the whole way home. It was a great trip with the family. I love being with them, and I am grateful to be able to have a job that allows me to spend so much time with my wife and kids and continue to make great memories.

Family Pics

I just wanted to post some of the family pictures that we got when we were in Spruce Grove. TJ Aneca did them for us.
