Brody's Football season has come to an end. They played great the whole year and improved so much ever game. They were a team of only grade 6'ers, so they were one of the youngest teams in the whole league. For being young, they played great and held their own with every team. Brody improved so much through out the year. one of his favourite things to do was to kick the extra points after they scored.
They were able play one extra game at the end of the season against Pincher Creek and they won 38-0. Brody had a couple great runs in the game and kicked 2 extra points. Brody loves football and we are excited to continue to watch him as he grows up and gets better.

Haydn is finishing up his volleyball season. They have played pretty good this season and have a lot of fun as a team. It has been a lot of fun coaching them and helping them improve their skills over the season. They have had volleyball tourneys in Vulcan, Medicine Hat and Bow Island. In Vulcan we lost in the championship in a tight game. In Medicine Hat we lost in the Tier II championship game. The ruling joke amongst the team is that we have way too many silver medals and that we can never win the big one.

We went to aa tourney in Bow Island last weekend and we finally put it all together. We had a really tough first game in the round robin, but won the game. The first game was tough because we had slept in that morning and got to the gym in Bow Island right in time for the game to start. Even though we were rushed we were able to pull it together and win the game. The rest of the games in the round robin and playoffs we were able to get through pretty easily. We played the championship game against vauxhall, which was the toughest team in the tournament. The first set was intense and we ended up winning 27-26. The 2nd set we had the other team rattled and we won 25-15. The boys finally won the Gold medal they had been looking for and I was so proud.
After the game we went into Lethbridge to go to a celebratory movie. Haydn was so tired that he slept on the way into the movie, slept during the movie and then slept on the way home from the movie. Haydn has one last Zone tourney this weekend and that will be the end of volleyball season.

For the past year I have been raising money to go to the USSSA Softball World Championships in Florida. I was asked by a team in Lethbridge to go with them to this tournament, and it has been something that I have been looking forward to for so long.
We flew out to Toronto Thursday morning at 1:30am. We had a 2 hour layover in Toronto and then we were onto Florida. We tried to figure out a way to see Parker in Toronto before we flew out, but it didn't work out. We arrived in Florida and made our way to the house where everyone on the team was staying at. After we settled in we went to check out the diamonds. The diamonds were some of the best diamonds I have ever seen. We were playing our games at the Disney Wide World of Sports complex.
We walked around and went out to eat that night and I slowly realized that my knee was starting to get stiff. It was getting harder and harder to walk as the night went on. When we went to bed that night, I turned to Kristi and said "I think I'm in trouble". When the morning rolled around my knee was so swollen and stiff that I couldn't even walk on it. There was no way that I was going to be able to play that day. The biggest tournament I have ever played in and I wasn't even going to be able to play. To say I was devastated was an understatement.

We went to the trainer at the diamonds and he wrapped my leg and gave me a pair of crutches to use for the rest of the day. We thought maybe it was a good idea to go and see a doctor down in florida, just in case something was really wrong with my knee. We went to a doctor and he said he could give me a couple of shots that would help me to be able to play the next day. One of the shots was a steroid shot and one was for inflammation. The doctor also gave me some pills to take for pain and swelling.
The shots and pills worked a little and I was able to play one game the next day. BUT........a few hours after the shots I started to get the hiccups and those hiccups would not go away for the next 11 days. Seriously hiccups for 11 days straight, I thought I was mentally going to go insane (More about that later). So I went all the way to Florida to pitch for 3 innings and have 1 at bat (which was a single up the middle).

We stilled tried to do a few fun things. We went to "Gatorland" and "Universal Studios". Both places were a lot of fun and even though I was on crutches, we had a great time. Universal was a great time and the water rides were a blast. I went on the Harry Potter ride and it made me pretty dang sick ahaha the ride was all over the place. My favourite rides were Jurassic Park, Dudley-do-right, Popeye and the Dr. Doom. Kristi has a better time on the rides so she went on everything including the Hulk rollercoaster and the Spiderman 4d ride.
On our way out of the diamonds one night some guy started asking me about my beard and how long I have been growing it. He had his phone and was putting it on Snapchat while we talked. I noticed that he was a pitcher in one of the games we had watched. He was staring at some of the batters that he popped up and I really like it. haha. We Started talking and he got my number and we started texting about the games. We went and watched him play in the championship game the next game. They won and he was the MVP of the tourney. That next day he wanted to take us out to eat and he game me an Easton hat, batting gloves, 2 jerseys and a shirt. It was awesome. His name is Daniel Sanchez and he is a sponsored softball player. I am going to send him a "Canadian" package back to Florida.

By the time we were on our way home, my knee seemed like it was no better and my hiccups were still around and driving me crazy. I could deal with the knee, but my hiccups were stopping me from getting any sleep. We finally got home and went to the doctor about my hiccups and whatever medicine they gave me, I reacted to and honestly I thought I was going to loose my mind. I found out that I was just going to wait out the hiccups. So 11 days I went with hiccups. It was the worst 11 days ever!!! Finally one night (Which was the worst night of hiccups) I slept through the night for the first time and it was amazing and my hiccups were gone. It was like one day I had them and the next they were gone.
Here are some pics of Brody at the Telus Spark Science Centre, the snow day we had in the first week of October, the Rise Against concert, and our Halloween costumes for this year (I am Papa Smurf, Haydn is Marty Mcfly, Brody is Nacho Libre, and Tyson is a Mime).
