Christmas 2016

Christmas was a little different this year because we spent most of the time getting ready to move to a new house. We were able to work out a deal with Kim to buy her house and we would use the 2 week break at christmas to pack and move. So the Christmas break didn't necessarily feel like a break this year because most of the time was spent packing and cleaning. I can't believe how many loads we took to the dump and how many loads we took to "New to you". Its amazing how much stuff you have in a house that you never use.

It was a little sad packing up the house. We spent 10 years in that house and added 2 kids to our family during that time. It is the only house our kids really remember. BUT we were running out of space and needed something bigger. It was also tough knowing that we would be leaving Jeff and Rae as neighbours. It has been great 10 years of getting closer to them, and I am sure our we will miss living right beside them.

Kim's house just seemed like the perfect fit for us. It gave us the extra space and bedrooms that we were looking for and it was right by Kristi's parents. The kids are excited about their new bedrooms and the hot tub that came along with the house. It will be great for us and look forward to never moving again.

We did take the kids up to Calgary for a couple of days to make sure they felt like they did something during the Christmas break. We met up with Ryan and Brandi and stayed a hotel with a waterslide for the kids. Its always a great time hanging out with them and our kids get along great so thats even better.

Christmas was pretty quiet. A lot of people were gone, so we mostly just hung out as a family, which is good. Haydn was pretty excited because we got him a phone this year. Brody got some shoes and some art supplies. Tyson and Lennon just got the regular toys and candy. haha
