Brody is 10 (Double Digits)

Well we have another kid in double digits. Brody turned 10 on December 4th. I cant believe how fast these kids are growing up, please slow down. The older you get means the older I get, and thats no good. At first we were going to do the regular birthday party that we always do for the kids, which is go to the gym and play laser tag and other activities in the gym. Brody wanted to change things up from the normal a little this year and decided just to take two friends to Lethbridge for pizza, mini golf and a movie. He took Jimmy Nish and Brynley Bevans. These kids had some of the funniest conversations in the back of our van. Most of the talk was about how they wanted to play on the same football team next year and smash everyone together.

We took the kids to the Movie Mill and first ate some pizza. Then the kids wanted to mini-golf (and they were a bit crazy). Jimmy hit one ball like a hockey puck and pretty sure he cracked one of the plastic coverings on the wall. We then went to a movie called Pan. The kids sat together towards the front of the theater and Kristi and I sat towards the back. We were happy not to sit with the noisy kids during the movie hahaha. The kids enjoyed the movie. We dropped the kids off in Magrath at a basketball tourney so they could run around, and then Brody caught a ride home with one of the other parents. I think over all he had a pretty good birthday party. I still don't think we actually got him anything for his birthday, I guess i better get on that. haha (come on, its almost Christmas).

Haydn and Grade 7 Basketball

Haydn made the grade 7 basketball team this year (and not just because I am coaching). They have played a few games and the team is looking great. Haydn scored 8 points in a win against Magrath and 4 points in a win against Mt. View. He has improved a ton from last year and I am sure he will continue to get better through out the season. We play Hill Spring and Raymond this week. Raymond will probably be our toughest team to play.

Alumni

I played in the Alumni basketball tourney. I wasn't going to play this year, but decided to at the last minute. It was really fun to play again and I am glad that I did (even though we were 0-3 in the tourney). It was fun to see old friends and try to keep up with throng kids, which I think I did a not too bad of a job for a old man of 36 years.
