Haydn and Brody had their Track and Field days last week and they both did great. Haydn loves to high jump and was excited to compete against the other boys in his grade in this event. He is one of the smaller boys in his grade but he is one of the best jumpers. The top 3 jumpers in the grade are probably the shortest boys in the grade. The day of track and field was a little rainy, and it made it hard for the jumpers to get a good grip on the ground to jump. He didn't jump the way that he wanted to, but he did jump good enough to get into Divisionals. Haydn also jumped well in triple jump and finished 2nd in that event. He probably would have placed in long jump, but he was really worried about scratching and would jump way before the board. We were proud of the way that he performed and it was fun to watch him succeed.

Haydn went to Raymond for divisionals to compete against all the surrounding schools. He was so nervous about high jump. I was at school, so Kristi was texting me about everything that was going on in the event. He was competing against 20-25 kids from others schools. He jumped well and finished in the top 5 and would have placed 4th, but he had one more miss than the boy in head of him. He was so happy with how he did, and we were again so proud of his performance.
This would be Brody's first track and field and he was so excited to compete and show off his "Stuff". haha. He ran in the 50m and the 100m and finished 1st place in both the races that he was in. He was so proud of his first place ribbons and wore them on his chest with pride. While other kids were having fun and messing around, Brody was all business when it came to competing in his events. He also had the longest throw in the ball throw and had one of the longest jumps in the long jump. It will be so great to see these boys grow up and get better and better at the sports that they participate in. It is so fun to see them start to understand the sport and get better each time they practice. Brody and Haydn get better everyday at baseball and love to play. Haydn is really starting to love basketball and Brody cant wait to try football in grade 3.
Reechi
Jeff and Rae's dog Recchi has been sick for a few years now. It has been hard for them emotionally and finacially. Reechi has had diabetes and they have been giving him insulin shots everyday for a few years now. He has a hard time breathing and has signs that are leading to cancer. The Vets said that it would be best for Reechi to be put down. This is a tough decision for a family that loves animals and have had Reechi for 10 years. He has become part of the family, just like a child. The Vets came to Jeff and Rae's house and put Reechi to sleep there and then they buried him in the back yard. It was so sad to see them so upset, but it was better for reechi in the long run.
To show thanks to the Vets and how they treated the family and Reechi, Rae and Kristi helped the vet clinic by re-doing their flower garden out in front of the clinic. It was a great way to say thanks to the Vets and pay a little tribute to Reechi.Ladies Fest
Kristi had a 8km run in lethbridge last week. She ran well and was 5 minutes faster than her previous time in that same race. She ran with mom and they both had a great time together. It is great to see her run because she loves it so much and is very committed. Kristi puts in a lot of hard work and I love to see her succeed in her races.
Odds and Ends
Here are a few more pictures of some of the stuff that has been going on.
