Sometimes it is hard for a father to tell the difference between parenting and babysitting. We lack the natural motherly tendencies that our beautiful wives seem to have so naturally. BUT, this will be my life for the remaining days of this weekend. My wife has been training for a half Marathon in Huntington Beach California for the last few months, and me as a great and loving husband said, "you should go, and I will watch the kids." So I hope that she is having a blast with her sister, sister-in-law, and niece.
As I am typing this my 18 month old is having a melt-down in his bed. Good Times! I absolutely love being a father, don't get me wrong. Every time that I stay home with the kids by myself it gives me a new respect for my wife and all she does around the home and in helping to raise my boys into great men someday.
So for all the fathers out there who have the difficulty of deciding if it is Parenting or Babysitting. Just think that someday your kids are going to grow up and they might be too busy to hang out with you. So enjoy the time that you have with your children, and give them great memories that they can look back on when they are older. I hope and pray that my children will look back on my Fathering with great fondness, and not remember too much of lack of patience. Hahaha
Good job on the parenting and surviving the weekend! And yes, your kids will look back with fond memories.
