Haydn getting ready to get his
Braces off.
Braces off for Haydn

Well Haydn has been waiting for a long time to get his braces off and start eating the junk food that he has been missing. BUT lets be honest the kid still would eat a lot of the things that he was not supposed to. When he got his braces off the dentist gave him a water bottle filled with the treats that he was supposed to stay away from for the past year or so.

Haydn happy to have his
Braces off.
He Still might have to get braces again as he gets older and his teeth move around. He had them on this time so the dentist could create room in his mouth for his permanent teeth to grow in correctly. But as of right now he has the straightest teeth in grade 4. haha.

Brody is the sweetest kid ever!! last night when me and Kristi walked into our room to get ready for bed we found these notes from Brody on our pillows. He put my two favorite things on there: the Yankees and the number 7. What a great kid. It is always good to see that your kids still love you!!!

My new cleats for softball season, it might
be a bit much this year haha.

Merry Christmas 2012
Tyson getting his "Drink On" during the
Holidays.

The best part about being a school teacher is getting time off with the wife and kids. A 2 week break from school with nothing to do but hang out and eat. Good Times!!! School ended on the 21st of December so there was not a lot of time to finish off the shopping before the big day approached.

My holidays started with my regular Christmas trip to Lethbridge with Jeff and Justin. This is a tradition that we started to finish off our Christmas shopping together. It usually involves a lot of laughing and making fun of each other and those around us. This years trip had an interesting trip to a shoe store where a worker said to me "I can guarantee that I can lace that shoe faster than you" and I returned by saying sarcastically, "Ya, cause I don't know how to lace shoes". Needless to say, the sale didn't go through and I quickly walked out shaking my head about the non sense of salesmanship that kid had. haha. The Trip ended with the uncomfortable trip to La Senza to buy some underwear for Kristi. This has also become a Christmas tradition, but no matter how many times I go in that store it always is so uncomfortable and I end up leaving with sweaty armpits haha.

Tyson opening a gift at the
Wynder Christmas Eve

We had 2 Christmas Eves this year. We had one with my family on the 23rd and then one with Sudo's on the 24th. The Wynder Christmas Eve involved watching the Family video that Jo makes every year. It is great to look back at the year with some video and pics. We all had a great laugh as we recalled some of the funny events of the year. We also had our usual gift exchange where everyone ends up with some type of sports jersey (another Wynder tradition). The evening ended with a lot of food, laughs, games, and Madden 13.

Christmas Eve with the Sudo's starting with a family ping-pong tourney in which I was quickly defeated in the first round by Maddy. All the kids opened their Christmas Pajamas and proceeded to have a dance party. Brody was one of the stars of the show with his "Gangman Style" dance moves and his "Pelvic Thrusting" to the song "Sexy and I Know it". Jett was doing some interpretive Dance / Ballet  while these songs were going on. Jett was showing off his flexibility with his stretches and dance moves. Tyson was also shaking his booty for everyone to see as well. This was entertaining the entire family for at least an hour of this party. The night ended with a Jam session on the guitar with me and Megan taking turns singing songs for the family.

Christmas Day!!!!

All ready for Christmas Morning
Our Children are unlike any other children on Christmas morning. They Sleep In!!! Most kids are up at the crack of dawn bugging their parents to get out of bed and open presents. Not the Wynder boys, they slept until 9:45am and then decided to get the christmas festivities started. Trust me, I am not complaining. The older boys woke up first and we opened presents. we decided to leave tyson sleeping cause we figured it would be easier to open presents without Tyson wanting to open everyones present.

The Stockings were Set on the
couch with such care haha

Tysons Favorite Gift
Haydn and Brody had a good Christmas. Haydn's favorite present was the 3 Guitar Hero games that he got. He played those for the rest of the holidays. Brody's favorite present was a TV that Santa gave him for his room. Tyson's favorite presents were his Buzz lightyear and Woody toys from toy story. He has packed those things around the house everyday since.

Trip to Calgary

All ready for the Water slides
Well we wanted the kids to feel like they actually went somewhere during the Christmas holidays so we wanted to stay in Calgary for a few nights (WooHoo all the way to Calgary!!)  We went to a Hotel that had some water slides and the kids loved it. They swam the whole time we were there, just taking breaks to eat and sleep. haha. Tyson ran away on us once and jumped into the deep end of the pool with out any life jacket. He had to be under the water for a good 5 or 6 seconds before Kristi got to him, but he took it like a champ.

On the way home we went to the Calgary Science Center because we heard it was good for the kids. The kids had a great time and the center  had a lot of hands on activities that they played.

10 year old Haydn
7 year old Brody

Haydn and Brody's Birthday

Well its official, I have a son that is 10 years old. A kid in double digits!!! Wow I am sure getting up there in years (33 ouch haha). I still don't feel too old, but maybe that is because I still act immature for my age---ya thats probably it. It is so crazy having two kids with birthdays in December plus the added stress of getting ready for christmas. I would not suggest it. If we have another baby, I want to keep him as far away from December as possible.

Both of the boys wanted play Laser tag in the junior high for there birthdays. It is great being able to use the junior high almost anytime. It is an easy place for a birthday party cause the boys can play games in the gym and run ragged through the halls. Brody's party was first and he wanted to have an Army theme, so all the boys dressed up in there army costumes. The Boys played Laser tag for hours and seemed to love every minute of it. We were also able the ice cream machine in the concession, so the boys were pretty excited about that as well.
Brody's birthday party was actually a few days before his real birthday. So on his Birthday we went up to Aunt Kim's house to have a birthday hot tub and some cake. Brody had a great time and he was so happy that he was turning 7.

Haydn's Birthday was pretty much the same as Brody. Laser tag, basketball, badminton, football and laps around the gym. Kids had a great time eating pizza, cupcakes and ice-cream. The main story that came out of the party was that when Kris was taking some of the boys home. She was walking in a scooter that one of the boys had left, and she got her pants caught on something on the ground and fell over. Her hands were full so she had no way to brace for impact. She scrapped up her hands, knees and foot. It was a rough end to a fun night.

Haydn's real birthday was a couple of days after as well, so we celebrated a Grandma Sudo's house for Haydn.

Cake time. All DQ had was a cake
with a Dolphin on it

Gingerbread Houses

Well the Christmas season is upon us again. Once again the boys had there annual gingerbread house making day. The boys love to make these houses and eat them afterwards. They both did a good job and are getting better each year at doing it themselves.

Dont think that this time will come around again any time soon.

I Love the Dentist.............Enough Said.............

Here is the thing that bugs me. I feel that I brush my teeth more thoroughly and often as Kristi does, but who is the one who always has cavities and needs fillings? This guy.

Well at least I can take it with a smile. Even if last time my face was froze till about 730pm and then my jaw started aching from having my mouth open so long at the dentist.

Good Times.....I think.

Grade 8 Volleyball 2012

I coached the Grade 8 boys Volleyball team this year at the Junior High. We started the year a little shaky with our skills, but as the year went on the boys just got better and better. Each tournament that we attended we seemed to improve on the skills that we needed to succeed as a team. We won two big tournaments this year. Our First big win was the final Divisional tournament of the year. This one was for all the marbles. The Boys wanted to win this tournament  because we would get medals and a volleyball to sign and keep in the school. We beat everyone in  the round robin and we were going into the final with a lot of confidence. We played Hillspring in the final. The first set we started slow and were down 19-8. The boys battled back and Reggie Williams went on a run with serving and we came back and won the first set. The second set we lost, so we went to the third and final set. The third set started off with us getting down 9-1. Now in a set that only goes to 15 this was rough, but the boys battled and we came back and ended up winning the set and the tournament. It was a crazy game and all the Cardston girls team was there cheering us on. It was so loud. The kids were so excited!!!

The second big Tournament was in Taber for the South Zone playoffs. This was important, because it was the first time that the Cardston Junior High would be able to play for a middle school zone banner. This banner would be put up in the school for ever, so the boys really wanted to win. We played great in the round robin and only lost one set. We ended up finishing first in the pool after all the round robin games were done. This meant that our semi-final game would be against the last place team in the pool. This was a great thing for us, because we would loose one of our best players to a championship football game that was on the same day and time. We made it through the semi-final with out any trouble, but it would be a tough final. The best and luckiest part of the tournament was that we were running about an hour behind schedule and this allowed our player in football to get back from his game and play in the final. We won the first set of the final fairly easy. We lost the second set. So, again we would go to the dreaded third set to decide who would win the tournament. We were down 14-13 in the final set and the other team (Gilbert Patterson) had serve. I called a quick time out and calmed the kids down and told them to focus on getting a good pass. We scored the next point and our player that had come back from football had the next serve for us. He served two in a row that the other team couldn't handle and we WON!!! The best part was that the Gilbert Patterson coach had been complaining the whole tourney and received a yellow card during the game. So that made the victory even sweeter. I had a great time coaching these boys this year. It was fun to see how much they improved over the season.

Halloween 2012

Well Halloween is upon us again. Another reason for the kids to gather as much candy as possible and get hopped up on sugar for weeks on end.

The Boys had a great time carving their pumpkins this year. Haydn carved a pumpkin that looked like it was wearing an eye patch. Brody carved a ghost. Tyson did his best, but really just made a mess with the pumpkin guts. haha

Haydn was "Jason" this year. He is getting old enough now that he can go Trick or Treating on his own. He went around town with his friend Kade this year.

Brody was a Zombie with a Knife stuck in his back. He was funny, because as soon as he put his costume he was always in character. Karlee took him out Trick or Treating this year. He came back with a full pillow case.

Tyson was a Skeleton, but he hated having his mask and costume on. It was pretty cold this Halloween so we did not take Tyson to many houses. He did not really care about getting too much candy this year. He would just eat every piece of candy when he would get it.

We finished the night the way we always end Halloween. We went to Justin and Jo's house for Pizza and hanging out. It was a good Halloween and the kids had an enjoyable time gathering candy for the coming weeks.

I Had a student at the Junior High dress up as me for Halloween. Reggie Williams had Kristi give him some of my clothes and a key chain like the one I carry around at school. He took some of the 3D glasses from the movies and took the lenses out of them to look like my glasses. He even cut his hair into a Fo-Hawk to look even more like me. haha. And lastly he put some black dots all over his face to look like he had a beard. It was pretty flattering to have a kid dress up as me. Hahaha

As for me, I left my costume to the last minute as usual. I was going to be a Hutterite but my costume fell through so I had to think of a back up plan. A couple of the kids at school had mentioned "Chuck Norris", so I decided to go as him.
