Lennon Lou Wynder Has Arrived 

     Well the time has finally arrived for the baby and I think we are ready. Kristi has been working hard to make sure the baby's room is ready to go for when we bring that little girl home from the hospital.

     We had to go into the hospital Friday April 11, 2014 at 7am for Kristi to be induced. The doctor checked the baby around 9am and everything looked like it was going to be a smooth delivery. Kristi started to feel more and more contractions as the time moved on and things seemed to be on schedule.

 






  Dr. Davie came in around 11:30am to check the baby one more time and to break Kristi's water. BUT when he checked Kristi, he said that he felt feet and not a head. This meant that the baby could be breach. He brought out an Ultrasound machine and found that the baby was breach and there was nothing he could do to turn the baby because of the contractions that Kristi was having. This meant that Kristi was going to have a C-section to get the baby out.

     From the time we found out that we would have to have a C-section to being in the operating room was only about 20 minutes. They got us in there fast. Kristi was nervous because it was so unexpected and has never been through this before.

     In the operating room Kristi was laid on a bed with her arms stretched out and her legs strapped down. They put up a curtain in front of us so we couldn't see exactly what was going on, but by the way they were moving and shaking Kristi I could tell that the baby was not easy to get out. I was asked to sit up by Kristi and when they saw how big of a beard I had they had me put on this beard net because they didn't want anything getting into mom. haha. Finally baby was out and Kristi did amazing under the crazy circumstances. Baby got cleaned off and I was asked to cut the cord. Then I was asked to leave with the baby while Kristi was getting sewn up. As I was leaving I looked back at Kristi and all I could see was this huge hole and I could see her insides.....It was crazy.

     I was able to go with the baby to get weighed and checked over, and then I spent about 3 hours holding her waiting for Kristi to get out of recovery. While she was in recovery her blood pressure dropped extremely low and she had to stay there longer than expected. I could tell it was going to be a long night, cause Kristi was in rough shape.

     Baby was healthy and weighed 8lbs 6oz. We named her Lennon Lou Wynder and she is perfect in every way. Kristi has been great with dealing with the pain of the C-section and we were so happy to get out of the hospital. We had to stay 4 days because of the surgery. I was ready to go crazy! I slept on a uncomfortable couch that pulled out into a bed. I was able to watch the same movies over and over on my iPad and eat McDonalds and KFC every night. It was great. I am sure I left the hospital very unhealthy.

 



   
      Rod Wynder and his wife Kaselle had a baby the next day and they were in the hospital with us as well. Actually there were so many babies born over the weekend that we were in the hospital. Ever bed was filled and when we left on monday there was even more coming in. So April must be the time to have Babies. So I don't know what was going on in August, but whatever it was it was good.

     Rod and Kaselles baby had some lung Problems and he was in the NICU hooked up to a bunch of machines to help get fluid out of his lungs. It was a scary time for them and I was able to help Rod give his baby boy a blessing in the hospital. It was such a good experience and the baby has continued to get better since. I told Rod that we were re-populating the world one Wynder at a time.

     Here are some more pictures of Lennon and some family that was able to visit. The Hospital is way more strict now on who is allowed to come and see the babies. The only kids allowed are the siblings to the baby being born. Other than that, they only want close adult relatives.

Other Odds and Ends

Other things that have been going on:

- We had our Talent show at the Junior High and the teachers played "Copperhead Road" by Steve Earle. It was one of the best songs that we have played for the kids and we spent the least amount of time of it. We had killer guitar riffs, mandolin, harmonies and Megan Durfey helped us make it complete.















- Haydn Had a basketball tourney in Lethbridge. His team played very well, winning 3 games and loosing 1. Haydn is continuing to get better at basketball and understanding the game. He also played in a 3 on 3 tourney and they won the tourney.

-Baseball is starting......well if the snow would go away for good. We have started practicing and getting ready for the season. AND of course that means that softball season will be starting soon as well.

- Haydn had his final choir concert last week and they did great. The choir is always one of the best choirs in all of Canada

Girls From Japan

     Kristi had some family from Japan that came over to visit for a week. They stayed with Donny and Dixie and they took them to Edmonton and Banff. We had dinner together a few nights and they seemed to have an enjoyable time with the family. The Girls really liked Tyson and it didn't take Tyson to long to warm up to them. When we had to leave Tyson wanted to give them a hug and a kiss haha. One of the girls really enjoyed music and played in a band back home in Japan, so I sent her home with some good bands that she had never heard of before. We brought the girls to the school so they could look around and sent them home with a couple Junior High T-shirts. They spent the last few days of their Canadian trip in Vancouver.




















Odds and Ends

We took the boys skiing again.....and again they loved it and improved so much!! We played our last hockey game last week and Justin brought a bottle of "Mormon Booze" to celebrate. We had a great hockey season and had a blast in the locker room chats after the games. Nathan Smith made me a cool picture of my beard. Kristi made home made sushi and the kids built a fort in the living room to eat it under.

Ski Day in Westcastle

     Well the boys have been bugging me for years to take them skiing and we have been putting them off and putting them off. It is something that is never a priority for me and Kristi so we always have found reasons not to go. BUT, the kids really wanted to go and they had free passes so it was about time that we took them. So during the reading week break we decided to use one of the days to go skiing. Kristi is in no physical condition to ski (Prego), so it was up to me to take the boys on my own. That would have been easy, but Haydn wanted to bring 2 friends and then Karlee and Clieve wanted to go. So it was me and Haydn, Brody, Briggs Holland, Kade Powelson, Karlee and Clieve heading up to the ski hill at 7am.

 


 Neither of the boys had ever skied before, so I was really worried about how the day would go with both of them. Haydn was dead set on snowboarder for his first time. We tried to talk him into skiing this first time and then snowboard another day, but he was having no part of it.

     So we got all our gear rented and we were ready to go. Brody went up the hill with me the first time and when we got to the top of the hill he was crying because his feet hurt so bad because his boots were too tight on the sides. I thought to my self, "Oh great, this is gonna be a great day". So we went back to the lodge and put on a different pair of boots and they felt better. The boys each had a lesson that day from a instructor on the hill. They both skied and snowboarded better than I ever thought they would have. Brody was a champ and had no fear going down the hill. Brody and Clieve skied a lot together and Brody would go over little jumps and then head down the hill 100mph. I was scared a few times for him but he either recovered and slowed down or wiped out. On Brody's last run of the day he went down one of the big runs with all the kids. He did great.

     Haydn wanted to snowboard so bad, because thats what his friends were doing. He did a great job and snowboarded on the big hill most of the day. His cousin Brad was there and he helped Haydn with a few tips on what to do and this helped him tons. Of coarse the boys wiped out a lot, but they both learned so much through out the day. By the end of the day Haydn was staying up on his board for most of his runs.

Sumo

     Well a few weeks back Kim's dog Sumo was run over outside there house and was killed. This was probably the only dog that I liked so it was a sad day. 

January 2014

     

     We took the school to West Castle to go Skiing. I really only ski about once a year because it is so much money to get into. Haydn and Brody keep bugging us to take them skiing, and we really should sometime because they really want to try it. I would like Haydn to ski at least once before he goes on the ski trip with the junior high next year. I am sure we will take them at least once this year. Hopefully they can get the hang of it quick and not get hurt hahaha.

     Haydn has been playing the Rocksmith Guitar game a lot  and he is getting better everyday. He knows how to play a lot of songs now. He is in love with the band Avenged Sevenfold right now and will listen to his headphones while he is eating breakfast. I brought the Bass guitar home from the school a few times and he is learning to play that as well. He has a good ear for the music and will be a great musician if he keeps with it.

     I was called into the "Young Mens" a couple of weeks ago. I am the 1st councilor in the Young Mens presidency. This is a big change for me because I have been so used to just teaching in the Elders Quorum once a month. I have not been involved in the Young Mens since I was young enough to be in the Young Mens. It has been a good experience so far. We went to the Temple to do Baptisms last week and that was a great experience for me. It had been a long time since I had done that, and it was great feeling. It will be good to be in the Young Mens because Haydn is close to being in there with me and I will be able to keep an eye on him haha.

     Reggie and AJ were sealed in the Temple last weekend. It was great to be in the Temple with them and share that important day. Everybody who was there had a great time hanging out and celebrating this day with them.
